Sustainability Upgrade of 4 Apartment Complexes (364 Units) – Eindhoven
As part of the sustainability upgrade of four apartment complexes in Eindhoven — comprising eight building blocks and a total of 364 residential units — BIMnD was commissioned to digitize the existing 2D drawings and convert them into accurate architectural 3D BIM models in ArchiCAD 27.
Approach
The project began with the digitization of available historical drawings. These 2D documents were translated into precise 3D models representing 15 different housing types. Based on these, detailed 3D BIM models and corresponding technical drawings were created for each housing type and building block.
Scope of Work
Housing Level
Development of 3D models in ArchiCAD 27 for 15 housing types
Production of accompanying 2D drawings per type, including:
• Floor plans
• Façade fragments
Building Level
Full 2D-to-3D conversion for each building block
Preparation of technical drawings per building, including:
• Floor plans of the ground floor, upper floors, and roof
• Elevation views
• Two sections per block: longitudinal and cross-section
• Site plan
Output: 3D BIM in ArchiCAD
For each housing type and building block, the following deliverables were provided:
A detailed architectural 3D BIM model in ArchiCAD 27
2D drawings in both PDF and DWG formats
These models and drawings form a solid foundation for further engineering and sustainability interventions within the project.
